Research Summary: Sulfur fertilizer is widely used in grain fields throughout Ontario. Previous research conducted at the University of Guelph has shown moderate yield improvement with the use of sulfur fertilizer on corn and wheat sites but with no significant economic advantage to growers. This research will continue with sulfur response surveillance trials across Ontario, in tandem with sulfur deposition data from environment Canada, which are showing a downward trend. Findings can aid growers to improve the economics of sulfur fertility management.
