Research Summary: Rainbow trout aquaculture creates significant economic activity in rural Ontario, but the industry has been slow in using digital technologies to improve productivity. This project aims to use social media analytics, surveys, and key expert interviews to map out the digital technologies available to Ontario trout farms and understand the features that increase their value to the industry. The results will help identify, assess, and adopt best management practices and digital technologies for rural economic development.
