Course Synopsis:

By the end of this course, you will:

  1. appreciate the origins and development of the historical discipline from the Greek period, with particular reference to historiography from 1800;
  2. understand advanced principles and engage in thoughtful practices of historical research and writing;
  3. think critically and creatively about both primary and secondary historical sources, and incorporate them effectively in historical research and writing; and
  4. undertake, with confidence and skill, hands-on activities related to historical research and writing.
