SOFAM Visiting Artists Series presents Jan Tumlir

Jan Tumlir is an art-writer, teacher and curator who lives in Los Angeles. He is a contributing editor for the local art journal X-TRA; his articles appear regularly in Artforum, Aperture, Flash Art and occasionally in Art Review and Frieze. In addition, he has written catalog essays for such artists as Bas Jan Ader, Uta Barth, John Divola, Jorge Pardo, Cy prien Gaillard and most recently, James Welling. Tumlir is a member of the humanities and sciences faculty at Art Center College of Design, and has in the past taught at Otis, CalArts, USC, UCR and UCLA.
