Details

Don't miss Red Herring, the Fourth-Year Theatre Studies Ensemble Performance!

Red Herring opens on a masquerade party that quickly turns into a night of chaos, deception and murder. As six guests gather under mysterious pseudonyms, their secrets and eccentricities begin to unravel. This student-written play is a parody of the murder mystery genre inspired by famous stories such as Sherlock Holmes and Murder on the Orient Express. As the storm rages outside, the guests must uncover the truth before they become the next victim! Leaving the question of Whodunnit?

Red Herring features exaggerated depictions of violence, including multiple on-stage deaths and simulated gun violence. It also contains strong language, sexually suggestive dialogue and references to alcohol, crime, religious and political satire. This performance uses theatrical lighting, and sound effects. The theatre is flat access, with limited seating at floor level. For additional details, and accessibility needs, please contact the box office directly at thsthouse@uoguelph.ca.

This show is being put on in the Black Box Theatre in the MacKinnon Building. MacKinnon is located in the middle of the University of Guelph Campus, beside Johnston Hall and across from McLaughlin Library. The theatre is in the Arts Research Centre on the north-west side of MacKinnon - the best doors to enter through are across from Johnston or to the right of the theatre (the large metal section of the building).
