Professor Sally Hickson has accepted the position of Director of the School of English & Theatre Studies starting June 1, 2022. The appointment reflects the surprising possibilities of cross-disciplinary collaboration and welcoming collegiality here in the College of Arts.
An art historian with expertise in Italian Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture, Professor Hickson is an expert at reading the room! She comes to the position with years of experience as the Director of the School of Fine Art & Music. She comes, as well, with abundant good will and a thriving curiosity about the exciting research, performance, writing, improvising, stage managing, lighting, directing, reading, and imagining of faculty colleagues, of staff, and of students in the School.
