This course surveys the use of quantitative methods, the historical evolution of data generation and recording, and the use of quantitative sources in historical analysis and evidence in historical research. The principal objective is to build numeracy among senior History students. Case studies and example will be drawn from studies of inequality, family structure and migration from a variety of regions in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americans.
