On Thursday, October 20 from 4:00 to 5:30pm Dr. Ian Mosby of York University & the University of Guelph will speak: “Tealess Teas, Meatless Days, and Recipes for Victory: Food, Gender and Citizenship in Wartime Canada, 1939-1945."
Dr. Mosby's visit is one of a series sponsored by Dr. Catherine Carstairs as part of the Graduate course History 6280, Canada: Community & Identity. This semester the course focuses on gender and women’s history in Canada, paying careful attention to how the writing of gender/women’s history has changed over time. Issues will include: feminist activism, biography, gender and the body, gender and consumption.
All talks take place in the OAC Boardroom, 104 Johnson Hall. Everyone is welcome!
