This course will meet face-to-face, once per week.
Course Synopsis:
This course will be a study of Plato’s Republic. We will read the Republic in its entirety, supplemented by study of a few other relevant texts from Plato and other Greek authors and by engagement with contemporary scholarly literature . Come to the first meeting having read Plato’s Apology and Book I of the Republic. You must use Bloom’s translation of the Republic for this course.
