Benjamin Lefebvre completed his Master of Arts in the College of Arts at U of G in English in 2001. He later went on to complete a Graduate Certificate in Publishing at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson), and his Ph.D. in English at McMaster.
Lefebvre's debut novel, In the Key of Dale, is the telling of a queer sixteen-year-old music prodigy who starts writing letters to his late father, was published in October 2022. In the Key of Dale will be available outside of Canada in November 2022.
Lefebvre has edited a series of books including an edition of L.M. Montgomery's rediscovered final book, The Blythes Are Quoted, and the anthology The L.M. Montgomery Reader, among others. In his work as a critic, Lefebvre writes about Canadian literary culture and North American text for young people.
