Details
Black Joy is a central theme of the Black Canadian Studies minor at the University of Guelph. This year, we are sharing Black Canadian Studies with the broader UofG community to create space for kinship, allyship, and celebrating Black Joy.
Join us for the sounds of the Djembe drum - the volume is Loud! - and the work of Raechele Lovell, Executive Artistic Director of Diverse Works Dance Company. Raechele will think through dance as memory and restoration for the black community along with performers from the Guelph Poets’ Society.
This event has been made possible by generous contributions from ‘The EDI Enhancement Fund, Diversity, and Human Rights’, the School of English and Theatre Studies, the School of Fine Art and Music, and, Interdisciplinary Programs, College of Arts.
When: November 1st, 2023
Where: MacKinnon 101
