Come hear the end of Fall semester performance by the University of Guelph Concert Chamber Ensemble, Henry Janzen, conductor.

Conductor Henry Janzen has worked with eminent conductors Antal Dorati, Raymond Leppard and Kenneth Jean. He has conducted throughout southwestern Ontario and southern Michigan including the Windsor Symphony, the Dearborn Symphony Festival Orchestra, Michigan Youth Symphony Concert Orchestra, Wayne State University Orchestra and the Verdi Opera of Michigan.

Along with his performing career, Mr. Janzen has dedicated a great deal of his time to teaching, coaching and adjudicating; he has built up a wealth of experience over the last 30 years. Some of the chamber and orchestral ensembles he has worked with include the Livonia Chamber Ensembles, MI; Seminar 2001-3, University of Western Michigan, Kalamazoo, MI; Metropolitan Youth Symphony, MI; Windsor Strings, ON; and the London Youth Orchestra, London, ON. In 2000 he toured the Czech Republic and Austria with the Guelph Youth Orchestra.

Students of Mr. Janzen have successfully pursued studies on scholarship at the Julliard School of Music; the University of Montreal; the San Francisco Conservatory; Wilfrid Laurier University and the Royal Conservatory of Music. A number have spent summers performing with the National Youth Orchestra.

Besides his private studio work, he has held teaching positions at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI; Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI; University of Windsor, ON, and University of Western Ontario. He is currently professor of viola and violin at the University of Guelph.
