"Heideggerian Insights Into Contemporary Technoscience – The Presence of Aristotelian Technē"

Phenomenology has often been presented as a philosophy of praxis which can trigger a questioning on today’s complex technological reality. In our paper, we will try to raise the question of technoscience within Heidegger’s phenomenology of technics in the light of recent theories of technoscience. To this aim we will elaborate on the interpretive approaches of Don Ihde, Gilbert Hottois, Dominique Janicaud, Albert Borgmann, Andrew Feenberg, and Iain Thompson. The focus of our investigation will be Heidegger’s recently published lecture courses such as Contributions to Philosophy: Of the Event [GA 65], Mindfulness [GA 66], The Event[GA 71], and Bremen and Freiburg Lectures [GA 79], where Aristotle’s productionist metaphysics plays a key role.
