Course Synopsis:

History 2040 is an online course on the History of Western warfare and its impact on society. Concentrating on developments in warfare, from the classical to the modern period, the course will consider the development of military strategy, practice, and funding tactics, the impact of technology on warfare, and the relationship between war and civilian populations. Students will study the experiences of a range of men, women and children from Europe, North America, the Pacific Rim, central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Essay - 20%
Final Exam - 30%
