September 13...... Agustí Fernández Solo.  Solo piano improvisation by internationally acclaimed Barcelona-based pianist Agustí Fernández.

September 20...... Masterpieces by Great Masters with the Madawaska String Quartet.  Two early works by composers who would soon become great masters of the String Quartet: Beethoven’s String Quartet Opus 18 no. 4, and Mendelssohn, String Quartet Opus 13 (“Frage”), written when the composer was only 18 years old.

September 27 ..... Justin Gray Duo. Justin Gray and Ed Hanley will be performing traditional Indian raga music on Bass Veena and Tabla.  The Bass Veena was invented by Justin Gray, and is a hybrid, fretless bass, that draws inspiration from Indian instruments like Veena, Sitar and Sarode. Their duet will take listeners on a unique journey, into the world of Indian classical music.

October 4............. Lili Boulanger; ses influences and ses contemporains. Soprano Maghan McPhee and pianist

Carl Philippe Gionet warm-up the crowd for the upcoming Creative Women at the End of the First World War Conference (Oct 5-7, 2018).  Songs of the influential Lili Boulanger, who is being celebrated for the centennial of her death and her creation “Clarieres dans le ciel” will be the focus.  Her teacher Gabriel Faure and their contemporaries, Ravel, Duparc and the iconic Claude Debussy, also celebrating the centennial of his death, will be featured.

October 11............ NO CONCERT – Fall Study Break

October 15........... Yazz Ahmed Family Hafla.  This concert is presented in collaboration with the Central Students Association (CSA).

October 18............... NO CONCERT

October 25........... Jesse Stewart, solo percussion.  University of Guelph alumnus, Dr. Jesse Stewart, will return to his alma mater to perform a concert of improvised solo percussion music on a variety of unusual instruments including the waterphone, handpan, wood flutes, and more. 

November 1.......... Ted’s Warren Commission investigates The Great Regina Pizza Debate. This is a “Smooth Jazz”

                               -free zone. We play rough Jazz for tough times.
 

November 8.......... Ensemble Made In Canada perform the MOSAÏQUE Project: 4 Performers, 14 Composers +

                               Inspired Audiences, brought together to interpret and celebrate the diversity and richness of Canada

                                         through their eyes, ears, and hearts.

November 15....... Accordion Postcards from the Baroque with Joseph Petric and Andrew Paul MacDonald, electric archtop guitar.

November 22........ Student Soloists Day, featuring the talented Applied Music students from SOFAM.
