Philosophy of Horror movie night - "Hereditary"

In this special session of Philosophy in the Dark, we explore ‘occulted knowledge’ – that knowledge which is obscured, hidden and (at times) infernal. Drawing on the film Hereditary’s invocation of the demon Paimon, we will explore three tasks: [1] the philosophical understanding of demonology (with aid from Eugene Thacker), [2] an appraisal of the tomes (e.g. The Lesser Keys of Solomon) where one might know of demons and [3] an ‘occulted epistemology’ of past, present and future – knowledge of all secret things.
