This course will treat the virtue ethics of Thomas Aquinas, working mostly from the great Summa Theologiae. We will examine Aquinas’ moral psychology, including his views on emotion, the will, habit, and virtue, and then proceed to examine some of his views on particular virtues such as practical wisdom, courage, and charity.
