Title: From Categorial dualism to Pluralism: Wittgenstein on Universals

Abstract: It is debated whether the early Wittgenstein was a realist or a nominalist. In this paper I argue that by the time of the *Tractatus*, Wittgenstein had already taken a substantial journey from realism in the traditional sense to a more liberated metaphysics, from the *Notes on Logic* throught the *Notebooks*. I argue that the resulting metaphysics is to be preferred to traditional realism.
