Critical Studies in Improvisation/tudes critiques en improvisation is a peer reviewed, interdisciplinary, open access electronic journal. It is the first journal to provide an academic forum for a developing critical field that accents the social implications of improvisational musical practices. CSI/CI uses innovative Open Journal System software, which means it is available free of charge to anyone with an internet connection. Taking full advantage of the on-line format, it contains streaming audio and video, scholarly articles, interviews with major improvisational artists, and 'notes and opinions.'
