Featuring Dr. Hélène Carabin, Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Epidemiology and One Health and Professor in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at the School of Public Health, Université de Montréal

The first mandate of Dr. Carabin’s Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Epidemiology and One Health is to highlight the importance of the One Health approach during crises and create an understanding of the epidemiological challenges encountered in identifying the underlying causes of population health status or health behaviours.

The second mandate is to incorporate advanced epidemiological methods to investigate complex One Health issues in Canada (Axis 1) and in low-income countries (Axis 2).

During this presentation, some of the challenges encountered during the first mandate and the solutions that will be incorporated into the second mandate of the CRC will be discussed.
