COESP Day 2025: Making Space: Supporting Learning in a Time of Growth

Details

The CBS Office of Educational Scholarship and Practice (COESP) will be hosting its annual COESP Day on May 1 in Rozanski Hall.

Register before April 22

COESP Day is our annual event that brings CBS instructors, staff, and students together to explore pressing questions in teaching and learning. This year, we're focusing on what it means to teach and support students in an environment of increasing enrolment and limited space.

Whether you're new to teaching or a seasoned instructor, this is a chance to bring your challenges, build community, and leave with ideas, tools, and connections.

What to expect:

  • Panels featuring CBS instructors, decision-makers, and edtech users
  • A keynote by Dr. Justin Shaffer (Colorado School of Mines) on high-structure teaching
  • A mini-talk by Dr. Megan Barker (SFU) on active learning on a shoestring
  • Lunch & connecting
  • Hands-on breakout discussions with time to reflect, collaborate, and plan

We’ll provide a workbook to help you make the most of the day and leave with a personal action plan.

Everyone is welcome, including faculty, graduate students, and staff from across CBS and the University of Guelph. Refreshments will be provided.
