Sean Michaels: Giller Prize-Winning Novelist Comes to the University of Guelph to Discuss His Book, Do You Remember Being Born?
Sean Michaels is the author of three novels, including the #1 bestseller Us Conductors and 2023's Do You Remember Being Born? Sean has also written on art, music and technology for The New Yorker, The Baffler, The Guardian, The Walrus and Pitchfork. He is a recipient of the Giller Prize, the Grand Prix Numix, the Prix Nouvelles Écritures, and he has been nominated for the Dublin Literary Award, the Kirkus Prize and the Peabody Awards.
On February 24, Sean visits the University of Guelph to discuss the origin and creation of his book Do You Remember Being Born?—which was undertaken partly and in deliberate discomfort with AI tools. In his talk, he will raise new questions about the serious challenges and surprising opportunities provoked by these discoveries and force us to rethink what it can mean to "collaborate."
