This seminar will explore the intersection of multi-stakeholder platforms and utilization-focused evaluation. It will discuss the shift in program evaluation from accountability to learning-oriented approaches, emphasizing collaboration, systems change, and innovation. The seminar will highlight how multi-stakeholder initiatives like living labs require evaluation frameworks to address questions of effectiveness, inclusion, investment, and success, using Utilization-Focused and Developmental Evaluation to guide collaborative decision-making.

icardo Ramirez is an independent researcher and consultant who works both internationally and in Canada. He was born and raised in Mexico and came to Guelph to study agriculture. He holds a PhD in Inter-disciplinary Rural Studies, also from Guelph, which led to over a decade of work with Indigenous organization in NW Ontario. He is a Credentialed Evaluator with the Canadian Evaluation Society, and Adjunct Professor in Capacity Development and Extension at the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, University of Guelph.
