Outcome-Based Research – Becoming an Incubator of Commercial Success" to be given by Dr. Colin van der Kuur, VP of Science and Research, Zentek Ltd.  

Dr. Colin van der Kuur (graduate of U of G Chemical Physics ‘93) is the VP of Science and Research of Zentek Ltd., a publicly traded Canadian IP development and commercialization company specializing in graphene-based technology.  In the four years leading Zentek’s research, Colin has led collaborations with over 20 different research groups across Canada that have been awarded over $8M in grants leading to successful IP in graphene synthesis, antimicrobial compounds, corrosion protection, ice phobic coatings, anode material, and pathogen diagnostics. Dr. van der Kuur will identify positive practices and troublesome barriers to impactful research while providing practical insights into how university researchers can increase their value to commercial collaborators
