Nigel Bunce
Research Overview
His present research interests are centred on environmental chemistry, with major emphasis on electrolytic methods for the remediation of wastes that are resistant to treatment by conventional methods.
Electrolysis offers a "niche technology" for compounds that are "recalcitrant" towards conventional biological treatment - because they are metallic, or unreactive biologically, or toxic to the microorganisms of a bioreactor.
Some recent and ongoing projects

- Dye industry wastes
- Odour remediation of liquid hog manure
- Arsenic in drinking water
