Thornbrough Rooftop Lab
Due to changes in the IT structure within the School of Engineering, the weather station on the roof of Thornbrough Hall is no longer directly accessible via the web. However, the station continues to operate normally, and weather data from the station is being logged. Please contact Mike Speagle (SOE staff) if you have questions about the station or would like to request data.
WindEng
WindEng was an annual competition that challenged high school students to design small wind turbines. Each spring, student teams brought their turbines to the University of Guelph campus to test their design in the wind tunnel. Unfortunately, the competition is no longer being held.
Solar Tracker Videos
The students of ENGG*4220 built solar trackers during the Winter 2013 semester. These were installed and operated on the roof of the Thornbrough building. View the time lapse video of the installation day and then subsequent operation. Note: each file is AVI format, and approximately 50 Mb.
