Congratulation! FARE faculty Alan Ker named Fellow of the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society.

Alan Ker, OAC Research Chair in Agricultural Risk and Policy and Director of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Policy has been named Fellow of the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society (CAES). The Fellows Award, which is the highest honor the Society bestows on its members will be presented to Alan on Monday, June 21, at the Annual CAES Meeting at 1:00 p.m. (EDT). If you are planning on attending the (virtual) Meeting, please join us for the Awards presentation (full program).

With its Fellows Award the CAES recognizes excellence in performance demonstrating continuous distinguished contributions to the advancement of agricultural or resource economics and substantial contributions to institution building and the Canadian agricultural and resource economics profession. Among Alan’s many accomplishments, I would like to highlight his central role as Managing Editor of the Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics to publish two special issues on COVID-19 and Canadian Agriculture and Food Sectors (#1 and #2). These special issues are testimony to the unique capacities of our discipline to provide timely and accurate analyses of current food and agriculture issues as the basis for sound policy and business decisions.
