HAFA Alumnus Launches New Book - Wine Sense
Congratulations to Bob Desautels (B.Comm. HAFA '75), Author of his new book, Wine Sense - The Three Keys to Understanding Wine.
Bob Desautels, also the Founder of the Neighbourhood Group (Borealis Grille & Bar and The Woolwich Arrow) will be celebrating his book launch on Wednesday, February 25 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Bookshelf eBar downtown Guelph. Meet Bob and have your copy of WineSense autographed.

HAFA Co-op Student Brings Home Medal
Jacqueline Simard, HAFA Co-op student (2nd year) won a 3rd place medal for the Restaurant and Food Management Exam at the DECA U provincial competition last weekend.
Study Abroad in Paris!
The Semester Abroad group in Paris has finally settled into their new home at the "Maison des Etudiants Canadiens" and is starting to explore not just Paris, but Europe. First group trip next week to Vimy Ridge, Peronne, Ypres, Passchendaele, and other World War I sites where Canadians were active. Stay tuned!
Passing of Former Director, Thomas F. Powers
The School is saddened to announce the passing of Thomas (Tom) F. Powers on January 11th, 2015. Dr. Powers was the 2nd Director of the School from 1979 - 1987.
Tom's wife, Jo Marie was also a long standing faculty member in the School.
We will miss you Tom.

The School Welcomes Post-Doctoral Fellow Dr. Leana Reinl
Dr Leana Reinl has recently commenced a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Guelph. This Irish Research Council awarded fellowship is co-funded by the European Union Marie Curie Programme which supports early stage research career development. Leana will spend a two year period at the University of Guelph under the mentorship of Prof.
HAFA Student Samantha Young Named Gryphon Athlete of the Week
Guelph Gryphon and HAFA student Samantha Young is one of the new faces on the OUA swimming circuit. This past weekend in St. Catherine’s she proved to be one of the strongest competitors in the province.
