Teaching Global Food Security Lands Prof. Major Award

A University of Guelph geography professor teaching global food security in novel ways has received a prestigious research award from the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, it was announced today.

Evan Fraser will receive one of three 2014 Trudeau Fellowships, worth $225,000 over three years. He is the first U of G professor to receive the honour. For more information see the Universty of Guelph Press release.

Institutional Grant (SIG) – Conference Travel & General Research Grants, Fall 2014

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) annually provides the University of Guelph with an Institutional Grant (IG). This grant is intended to meet conference travel and small research expenses (of less than $5,000) for faculty members who are working in the areas normally funded by SSHRC. Join the Glocal Classroom!

The Glocal Classroom project involves four universities on four continents building a global platform for collaboration and interchange in web-based learning. The third in a four seminar series will be held September 17-20, 2014 in Malmö University, Sweden  in conjunction with the Ørecomm Centre for Communication and Glocal Change.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is organising a tour of cutting-edge research facilities in northern Germany which specialise in the field of modelling future scenarios for foreign researchers and administrators from universities and research institutes. The tour will present cutting-edge research activities in the field of computer-based modelling and simulation at facilities in northern Germany.
