Public Management Association Thanksgiving Food Drive

Come join the Public Management Association as we collect food items from the City of Guelph for the University Food Bank and the Guelph Food Bank! Anyone and everyone is welcome to serve with us!   Please meet at the UC Bus Loop at 5:30pm sharp. We will be driving around Guelph and collecting from 5:45-6:45pm, and the PMA will be providing food and beverages in the University Centre to follow as a thank you for our volunteers from 7pm-8pm.  

Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 Award in Spirits

This one day course will introduce you to the basic principles of spirit production and the main types and styles of spirits available. You will also learn how to serve spirits and understand the basic principles of marketing used for the sale of spirits and the issues relating to the safe consumption of spirits. An exam will be held at the end of the day and successful candidates will receive a certification.

Application Deadline: The Gryphon of Wall Street Trading Simulation

The Gryphon of Wall Street Trading simulation is a real time trading simulator designed to give students an understanding of how capital markets function. Throughout this four week trading simulator, beginning on October 1st, teams of between 1 and 4 students will compete to obtain the best market return on $100,000 of starting capital.

Research Event: Visiting Speaker Series ft. Christian Trudeau, University of Windsor.

The Visiting Speaker Series is an opportunity for invited researchers and professionals, external to the University of Guelph, to present their research topic(s) to faculty and students. On September 16, the Department of Economics and Finance will welcome Christian Trudeau from the University of Windsor who will be covering topics from the bankruptcy problem and its Concede-and-Divide solution to the assignment problem and its Fair Division solution. Anyone from the University of Guelph is welcome to attend.
