Lang Real Estate Program receives $125,000 gift
Deloitte Canada, a longtime supporter of the Lang Real Estate Program, has contributed $125,000 to Lang’s Guelph Real Estate Alliance (GREA). This contribution will significantly enhance learning opportunities within the program, such as Lang’s popular Undergraduate Real Estate Case Competition (URECC) and strengthen the school’s industry connections.
The GREA campaign has raised close to $600,000 to date. The objective of GREA is to enhance collaboration with professionals from the real estate sector and faculty, students, and alumni at Lang. The campaign is a direct call to leaders within the industry to support the program which, for almost 30 years, has developed many prominent leaders within the sector. Deloitte is the fourth organization to support the GREA campaign, joining Reid’s Heritage Homes, Allied Properties REIT, and CBRE.
The GREA campaign funds a new faculty position to enhance the student experience and learning opportunities. On July 1, Lang welcomed Leslie Legge as Assistant Professor in Real Estate. Legge joins Lang with 9 years of industry experience, working at Loblaw Inc. and Cadillac Fairview, and will continue to enhance collaborations with the industry.
“With the assistance of Deloitte's support and collaboration, we can elevate the learning experience, both in and out of the classroom,” says Legge. “The contribution will give students the ability to learn from industry leaders, apply their learning and build strong relationships leading to continuous support post-graduation. We look forward to working with Deloitte and continuing to develop strong, successful, and authentic leaders within the real estate industry.”
Lang is one of just a few Canadian business schools that offer a specialization in real estate at the undergraduate level. The Real Estate Program at Lang features a renowned and active advisory board that helps align the program's academics with the industry.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Deloitte to the Guelph Real Estate Alliance,” said Dr. Greg Bauer, Associate Dean, Strategic Partnerships at Lang. “Receiving support and guidance from our industry leaders is integral to the continued success of Lang.”
