March 27: Hotel and Food Administration student wins international case competition
Hotel and Food Administration (HAFA) student Aaron Laurie recently took home top prize at the 2015 Young Hoteliers Summit in Lausanne, Switzerland. Laurie worked with four other students from schools around the globe to propose a strategy to transform the Dorchester Collection's organizational structure from a hierarchy to a network.
He and his group members will receive a seven-day, all-expense paid trip to three of the Dorchester Collection's iconic hotels in Milan, Paris and London. Each member will also visit the luxury hotel operator's corporate office in London following their trip.
Now in its sixth year, the case challenge, which aims to reduce the gap between hospitality companies, educational institutions and young hospitality students, welcomed 31 schools from around the world. Read more on the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management's website.
