March 4: CMESA Five Days For the Homeless
Five Days for the Homeless is the longest standing charitable event that the College for Economics and Management Student Association (CMESA) partakes in. The Five Days movement, which began in 2005 by students from the School of Business at the University of Alberta, is a national event that occurs at nearly 20 universities and has raised over $500,000 for at risk youth and the local organizations that assist them. Together students across Canada spend five days living on their campus in an effort to raise money and awareness for a local youth shelter of the University’s choice.
Through this campaign the CMESA and students at the University of Guelph have combined forces to contribute to the efforts of Wyndham House, a registered charitable organization that provides safe and stable cooperative living residences for youth aged 16 to 21 who would otherwise be homeless. The goal this year is to raise $5,000 for Wyndam House. We are looking to the aid of students, faculty and the city of Guelph to reach our goal. Together we can make a difference.
This year's event will take place on March 14-18.
