November 5: HTM professor’s study cited in Globe and Mail story on new hires
A story in yesterday’s Globe and Mail references the work of Jamie Gruman, associate professor of organizational behaviour in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. The story by Wallace Immen examines the orientation practices of organizations in welcoming new hires. In it, Immen cites a survey-based study co-authored by Prof. Gruman and Prof. Alan Saks of the University of Toronto in which the pair conclude many organizations are not doing enough to help new hires adjust and become productive employees from day one.
