October 29: Country duo represents CME at United Way fundraiser College Idol
The country duo of Amy Nodwell and Scotty Kipfer represented CME at Thursday’s College Idol music contest. The luncheon event is an annual fundraiser for the University of Guelph’s United Way campaign. It features musical acts from each of the seven colleges squaring off in the name of the greater good.
For Nodwell, a fourth-year Marketing Management major, this year’s College Idol marked a return of sorts after sitting out last year.
“I participated two years ago and again this year, and had a blast both times,” Nodwell says. “All the acts were great this year. It is always so awesome to see the talent that comes from our university.”
Nodwell and Kipfer, who is a full-time musician, having been making a name for themselves of late and are eager to see where music takes them. Nodwell plans to devote herself to music full-time when she completes her studies at the end of the school year.
“We have been writing together for a few years now and recently signed a management deal as a country duo act, so are excited for things to come,” she says.
