Economics professor Bram Cadsby conducts experiment on female identity conflict

Prior to entering undergraduate studies, Economics Professor Bram Cadsby admits that studying economics and becoming a professor were not necessarily on his “to do” list. But after one year of English and Philosophy studies and a brief foray into international relations, he found himself enjoying an economics class and ultimately starting his career in that field. Entering into economics not only broadened Cadsby’s career options, but also allowed him to apply his lifelong interest in human behaviour. “I’ve always been fascinated by human behaviour,” he says.

Nov. 12: School of Hospitality and Tourism Management to Host Restaurant Innovation Competition

The inaugural Frankie Tomatto's Restaurant Innovation Competition will be hosted by our very own School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) on March 1, 2014. Participants will develop innovative ideas for the restaurant industry and compete for cash prizes. CME Appoints Dr. Martin Gooch as Adjunct Faculty with the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management

Dr. Martin Gooch has been appointed adjunct faculty with the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, in the College of Management and Economics. Dr. Gooch has 28 years of management experience in the international agri-food industry, having worked in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada on product and process innovation and marketing from a value chain perspective. Awards recognizing his work include the SIAL prize for the “World’s Best New Fruit and Vegetable product of 2002” and in 2013 Bayer Inc.

Oct. 18: CME hosts World Food Day event with George Stroumboulopoulos

On October 17, CME hosted a World Food Day event featuring a panel of experts discussing sustainable food strategies. Panelists included CME's Associate Dean Professor Sylvain Charlebois, Canada Research Chair in Global Human Security, Evan Fraser, and Gawaher Atif, the United Nations World Food Programme's Deputy Director of Private Sector Partnerships.
