Guelph business students bring home hardware from international conference
University of Guelph business students brought home top awards from DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) that took place recently in Anaheim, California. Held annually, the ICDC welcomes more than 1,500 collegiate DECA members from multiple countries to compete in intense case competitions focused on marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
Leadership and Organizational Management student Emily Kaldis placed first internationally for human resources management and Jacqueline Simard (Hotel and Food Administration) brought home multiple top 10 honours and came in second internationally in the restaurant and food service management category. DECA U Guelph also placed third internationally for their combined scores in Business Administration.
This is the second consecutive year that DECA U Guelph has brought home awards from the ICDC. Last year, Management Economics and Finance student Brandon Ringham and Kaldis were recognized with top 18 and top 10 finishes, respectively.
