Cecily Costain, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend her thesis on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. Her advisor is Dr. Mike Emes.  Thesis Title: "Effects of altered starch metabolism on growth and development of Arabidopsis thaliana".

Karamjeet (Kanu) Singh, Ph.D. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend his thesis on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 1:30 pm, via MS Teams.  His advisor is Dr. Steffen Graether. Thesis Title: "Structural and biochemical investigation into Arabidopsis thaliana LEA3 proteins." All interested members of the university community are welcome to attend.

Olivia Grafinger, Ph.D. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend her thesis on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.  This exam will be conducted online, via MS Teams.  Olivia's advisor is Dr. Marc Coppolino.   Thesis Title:  "The role of beta-1 integrin signaling in regulating the phosphorylation and recycling of MT 1-MMP at invadopodia."

Sierra Rosiana, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend her thesis on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 9:30 a.m..   This exam will be conducted online, via MS Teams.  Sierra's advisor is Dr. Rebecca Shapiro. Thesis Title: "The role of fungal adhesins in mediating morphogenesis and virulence in Candida albicans." All interested members of the university community are welcome to attend.

Samanta Pladwig, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend her thesis on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 9:30 a.m..   Ths exam will be conducted online, via MS Teams.  Samanta's advisor is Dr. Mark Baker.   Thesis Title:  "Characterization of human BRCA2 truncations on Rad51 levels and homology directed repair in mammalian cells."  All interested members of the university community are welcome to attend.

Laura Seidel, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend her thesis on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 9:30 a.m..   Ths exam will be conducted online, via MS Teams.  Laura's co-advisors are Dr. Cezar Khursigara and Dr. Matthew Kimber. Thesis Title:  "Investigating the structure of the Escherichia coli divisome protein FtsK via covariance analysis".
