New Alumni Awards Celebrate Excellence in Agriculture

The Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) Alumni Association announces two new awards that recognizes alumni’s outstanding contributions to agriculture. These awards seek to honor exceptional individuals who have made significant impacts on their professions, communities, and the broader agricultural sector.
"These new awards represent our commitment to celebrating the remarkable achievements of our alumni," said John Cranfield, Interim Dean of the Ontario Agricultural College. "The OAC has a rich history of producing leaders who drive innovation and positive change in agriculture and food systems. These awards not only honor their accomplishments but also inspire current and future generations of leaders to strive for excellence."

The Young OAC Alumni of Honour
Celebrates the achievements of graduates under the age of 40. This award acknowledges individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in their careers, communities, and within the OAC community itself. Nominees are recognized for their outstanding professional accomplishments and volunteer service, reflecting the values of innovation, dedication, and community engagement fostered by OAC.
The Lifetime Achievement Award for Alumni Aggie Excellence
Represents the pinnacle of recognition within the OAC Alumni community. This prestigious honor is bestowed upon individuals whose lifelong contributions have significantly enhanced agriculture, education, business, and industry. Recipients of this award exemplify the spirit of Aggie excellence through sustained commitment, leadership, and exceptional achievements that bring honor to the OAC, the University of Guelph, and their fellow alumni.
Nominations for both awards are now open, inviting members of the OAC community and beyond to nominate deserving candidates. The process encourages submissions that highlight the nominee's professional achievements, community impact, and ongoing dedication to agricultural and food-related initiatives.
