New Leader Appointed for Teaching Excellence in OAC
Professor Andy Robinson has been appointed to a new coordinating role as the Professor in Teaching Excellence for the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) effective April 1, 2014.
In this new role, Robinson will support the Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP) submissions for OAC programs; develop and evaluate 'pilot projects' related to teaching enhancements; and also support other teaching innovations across the college. This new role will support the University of Guelph’s continued emphasis on innovative teaching and learning approaches, and will be supported through the OAC Learning Trust.
Robinson has been an institutional champion in teaching excellence in programs such as the University’s EnLITE program. He has also shown leadership and dedication during his time as Chair of the Department of Animal and Poultry Science over the past five years. His coordination and dedicated efforts will enhance OAC's overall commitment to teaching excellence. Aside from these new duties, Robinson will also maintain his existing teaching and research activities for the department.
Starting April 1, 2014, Professor Jim Squires will assume duties as Interim Chair of the department. The OAC Dean’s Office hopes to announce a new department chair by the end of June.
