Term: Winter 2013
Details
This course will deal with philosophical issues pertaining to art. Important historical figures will be discussed (e.g. Plato, Aristotle, Hume, Kant, Collingwood, Wittgenstein), as well as more recent work: Danto, Dickie, Berger, Freedland. Many artworks will be discussed and viewed and heard--and considered for their relevance to philosophical issues.
