New Health Unit Building Opens

On Wednesday, October 1, Public Health celebrated the grand opening of its new facility at 160 Chancellors Way in Guelph. The new building has been designed to meet the needs of the County of Wellington and the city of Guelph now and into the future.

Delta Hotel and Conference Centre

The Delta Hotel & Conference centre situated at the corner of Gordon Street and Stone Road. Includes 13 meeting rooms of varying sizes, highlighted by a 6,000 square foot ballroom that seating 500, full catering services as well as a full-service restaurant and patio. The hotel bosts 148 rooms including 80 deluxe king suites, each offering a living room, kitchenette and separate luxury suites outfitted with upgrades such as fireplaces, jacuzzis and walk out terraces.

The provincial government's Stone Road Complex and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food headquarters is located across the street on the north side of Stone Road. The University of Guelph's main campus is located kitty-corner to the property.

Movati Athletic

Strategically located adjacent to the hotel, is a 55,000 sf fitness facility built and managed by The Athletic Club, whose headquarters are in London, Ontario. They have built several facilities around Ontario, the most recent being in Thunder Bay with the Guelph facility being its largest to date. Edinburgh Market Place

The Edinburgh Market Place is situated on 9.8 acres on the northeast corner of Edinburgh Road and Stone Road and is a successful commercial retail location directly across from Guelph's Stone Road Mall which boasts approximately 7.5 million shopping visitors per year, providing an extensive spin-off benefit to the Edinburgh Market Place. 

In 1995, the University of Guelph entered into a land lease agreement with Hammerson Canada Inc. to develop this 10 acre site. Edinburgh Market Place opened for business in 1996 and has remained successful from the outset. In 1998, the Hammerson land lease was assigned to OMERS Realty Management Corporation and managed by Oxford Properties. In 2003, the lease was assigned to Primaris Retail REIT and Oxford continued to manage.  In January 2010, Primaris Management Inc. assumed the management services to Edinburgh and its tenants.
