Putting Capacity Development and Extension (CDE) Skills to Work
Heather White (BSc Env, ’02 and MSc CDE candidate) has been brought onto the Soils at Guelph team as the new Knowledge Mobilization and Community Coordinator. Housed in the School of Environmental Sciences, this initiative aims to advance sustainable soil management in Ontario by making all soil-related research available to those that could benefit from it. It believes that to advance sustainable soil management, knowledge exchange needs to occur between researchers, farmers, industry, government, and the general public. This may include research being done in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development that considers agricultural soils – so don’t be surprised if Heather reaches out to SEDRD researchers in the months to come!
