Juri Peepre

A 1976 BLA graduate, Juri was appointed a Member to the Order of Canada “for his role in protecting the Canadian wilderness for future generations.” While his career promoting land conservation and planning protected areas may not be labelled as landscape architecture, he has certainly demonstrated the principles of the profession. He is based in Windermere, British Columbia. 

Juri Peepre passed away peacefully on May 13, 2018 at his home at the foot of the Rocky Mountains near Windermere, inspired us with his deep understanding and strategic approach to pressing environmental issues. Juri’s actions always reflected a deep humility and kindness that served to make his activism so effective. Juri leaves behind a tremendous legacy of conservation and a vision that lives on in the hearts of his many friends and colleagues across Canada.
