Resources for Leaders

As of May 31, 2019, U of G's Guelph campus is tobacco- and smoke-free. Support from leaders is critical to the success of this initiative. Employees, particularly those who currently smoke or use tobacco, will likely have questions about the Tobacco- and Smoke-Free Campus policy. The University's Tobacco- and Smoke-Free U of G Guide for Leaders offers suggestions for leaders to consider in preparation for the launch and throughout implementation of the tobacco- and smoke-free campus policy. The guide has been designed to support leaders as they have conversations with employees about the policy.

Employees are not expected to quit smoking, but will be asked to respect the boundaries outlined that indicate where smoking and tobacco-use are no longer permitted.
