Commuter Students
Welcome Commuter Students!
If you do not live in Residence, then you are a commuter! Whether you live in Guelph or elsewhere, you commute to campus for classes. Welcome to the commuter resource page! At U of G, we are always working on creative ways to improve student success and help our off-campus students feel welcome and supported.
The Off-Campus Living Advisor offers one-on-one or group advising for commuters to assist in finding community and developing your connections and sense of belonging at the University of Guelph. In addition to support from the Off-Campus Living Advisor, we also have two Peer Helper student teams who run events and workshops for commuter students and provide one-on-one rental and tenant advising. If you have questions or suggestions, or would like to book an online appointment, contact us at ocl@uoguelph.ca
Commuter Engagement
Our Commuter Engagement Peer Helper Team is here to help commuter students feel more engaged and to find a sense of belonging on campus through events and activities. Find out more about commuter student programming and events on GryphLife.
Guelph Transit Bus Pass for U of G students
You’ll likely want a bus pass to help you get around town. In Guelph, your bus pass is your student card! If you’re living off-campus in Guelph, make sure to check the bus routes nearby so that you’ll be able to make it to your classes and other commitments easily. You can find bus schedules, information about the On-Demand bus, and trip planning resources on the Guelph Transit website.
Lockers
Locker rentals are available in two different buildings on campus:
University Centre (UC)
Locker rentals are administered by the University Centre Administration office on the second floor of the centre.
Athletics
Lockers are available for daily use (free) and membership rental (for a fee).
Meal Plan for Commuters
The Ultra Food Plan is availability through Hospitality Services and has been designed specifically for off-campus students. You can find out more information at the Hospitality website.
Parking Services
You can manage your Parking Services account online, which means you can purchase your parking pass online rather than waiting in line to pay. Visit www.parking.uoguelph.ca for more information.
