SLEF Expressions of Interest
Additional Funding to Enhance the Student Experience
The Compulsory Fee Committee is accepting Expressions of Interest from Recognized Student Organizations and University departments for new or existing non-academic Special Initiatives.
One-time funding has been made available through the Student Life Enhancement Fund (SLEF) for special initiatives that range from a minimum of $20,000 to a maximum of $180,000. Total funding available across all initiatives is $180,000. As a result, funding may be distributed across multiple projects or allocated to a single project.
Initiatives are welcome in a wide range of areas; however, the following subject areas are encouraged:
- Student food security
- Student housing security
- Emergency student assistance funding
- Infrastructure for student services and student spaces
Expressions of interest should include the following information:
- Area of need addressed by the initiative
- Whether the initiative is new or existing
- A brief description of the project that incorporates the following:
- how the initiative relates to enhancing the student experience,
- a demonstration of need for the initiative through data
- Timeline for project development, implementation, and completion
- Confirmation that implementation of the initiative would begin no later than the Summer 2025 semester.
- A budget that identifies the funding amount requested for the Special Initiative
- Demonstration of sustainability of the initiative, if applicable, after the funding period is complete
Expressions of Interest should be a maximum of 2 pages with an attached budget.
Expressions should be uploaded through this GryphLife form on GryphLife.ca by January 16th, 2025.
Review and decisions will be made within 2 weeks of the Expression of Interest deadline. Successful organizations will be invited to submit a full application.
