Dr. Megan Walsh and Dr. Erica Carleton, two University of Saskatchewan researchers, are joining MindWell Founder and Chief Training Officer, Dr. Geoff Soloway to discuss how they are using mindfulness training to help women overcome stereotype threat, a major barrier that hinders them from joining and performing well in top leadership positions in organizations.

They will discuss:

  • The underrepresentation of women in top-tier leadership positions: The importance for society and organizations to understand and address this issue

  • Stereotype threat: What is it? Why does it matter for women in leadership?  

  • The relationships between stereotype threat and leadership aspirations/performance

  • The recent findings on the potential for mindfulness to build individual resiliency against stereotype threat

  • Future directions: Training and better understandings of chronic stereotype threat
