Wellness@Work is collecting donations for the Guelph-Wellington Community Health Van. Learn more about the work this organization does in this article from Guelph Today.
Please bring in an item to donate to this local charity and drop it off at our table in the UC Courtyard. Items can be new or gently used.
Please consider bringing hygiene products, clothing (socks, mits, etc.) or snacks. Below is a more comprehensive list of items they are in need of.
Clothing:
(We need both rugged quality and utility grade in all items) (Men’s and Women’s.. no kids)
- SOCKS!!!!
- MITTS!!!!
- Hats
- Sunglasses
- Scarves
- Coats
- Snow pants
- Gloves
- Boots
Camping Gear:
(We need to consider both indoor and outdoor camping. Some folks that have apartments are still freezing cold.)
- Sleeping Bags
- Blankets
- Tarps (small and large)
- “Poly”/plastic rope (to use with tarps - not cotton)
- Batteries (AA and AAA)
- Head Lamps
- Candles (e.g., tealights or candles in jars)
- Flashlights
- Emergency/survival blankets (the shiny silver kind)
- Garbage bags (large, black)
- Backpacks (both larger-sized camping style and standard size)
Hygiene:
(We need all sizes but any sample(single use) sizes are amazing too!)
- Pads / Tampons
- Deodorant!!
- Shampoo and Conditioner
- Adult Diapers (all sizes)
- Shaving Cream
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Lotions
- Lip Balm
- Body Wash
- Toilet Paper
- Wet wipes or baby wipes
Food:
(Please consider ready to eat prepackaged foods. Items that are gentle on the mouth are always needed. Many people do not have the ability to cook food. Canned goods are best if they have a pull tab to be opened. Not everyone has access to a can opener.)
- soft granola bars
- pudding cups
- canned fruits (large cans or fruit cups)
- canned pasta
- juice boxes / water
- soft cookies
- peanut butter / jam
- canned soups
- protein shakes (boost, ensure, etc.)
- hot chocolate packets (individual) and bulk
Gift Cards:
- Fast food (Tim Hortons, Subway/Mr. Sub, McDonalds, etc.)
- Grocery store gift cards (NoFrills, Zehrs/President’s Choice)
- Shopper’s Drug Mart
- Canadian Tire
- Walmart
- Any other place where we can buy supplies ourselves or give to clients to buy what they need.
Assorted / Random:
- Bus tickets. SO MANY BUS TICKETS.
- Laundry detergent (small bottles)
- Hand and/or foot warmers
- Reusable Shopping/Grocery Bags
- Dog and/or cat treats
