The 800MHz Bruker AVANCE III spectrometer offers outstanding resolution and is the crown jewel in the NMR Centre's inventory. This instrument is primarily used to study the structure and function of membrane proteins, with secondary focusses including the high-sensitivity detection of quadrupolar nuclei and high-resolution applications to small molecules and soluble proteins. The spectrometer is equipped with 4 RF channels and 3 high power RF amplifiers.
Available probes:
Biomolecular solid state (HCN) MAS probes at a variety of rotor sizes (1.3 mm, 1.9 mm, 2.5 mm, 3.2 mm), and with options for increased salt tolerance
Broadband solid state (HX) MAS probe with 4 mm rotor size
Solution state TXI probe (1H inner coil, 13C/15N outer coil)
Temperature range: -60 C to 120 C, depending on probe
